Thank you for choosing Midwife Balance for your precious keepsake. Each stone is handcrafted with care using your personal materials to create a unique and lasting memento. To ensure the longevity and beauty of your keepsake, please follow these care guidelines.

WARRANTY INFORMATION

Standard Warranty

• All Midwife Balance memorial keepsakes come with a one-year warranty against manufacturing defects.
• This warranty covers issues related to craftsmanship but does not cover damage resulting from improper care or accidents.
• This warranty doesn’t cover plating.  Plating is always temporary.  Keepsake rings can not be replated due to the heat involved.

Enhanced Warranty with Waterproof Coating

• Keepsakes with our premium waterproof coating upgrade receive a two-year warranty.
• This enhanced warranty provides additional protection to the keepsake stone allowing for greater versatility in wear. It is not added to plating.
• This warranty doesn’t cover plating.  Plating is always temporary.  Keepsake rings can not be re-plated due to the heat involved.

Daily Wear Recommendations

When to Remove Your Keepsake

For all keepsakes (standard and waterproof-coated), please remove your jewellery:

• Before sleeping to prevent accidental knocks or pressure
• Before applying lotions, perfumes, cosmetics, or any skin products
• Before swimming in saltwater (ocean, sea)
• Before entering chlorinated water (pools, hot tubs)
• Before exposure to chemicals (household cleaners, hairspray, etc.)
• During high-impact activities or sports
• When using tanning products or sunscreen

Storage Recommendations

• Store your keepsake in the original box provided when not being worn
• Keep away from direct sunlight when not being worn
• Store away from heat sources and humid environments
• Avoid storing with other jewellery that might scratch or damage your piece
• Keep out of reach of young children and pets

Cleaning Your Keepsake

• Gently wipe silver with the soft, lint-free cloth provided
• Use the cloth sparingly on plated keepsakes to prolong plating
• Never use jewellery cleaners, ultrasonic cleaners, or harsh chemicals
• Allow to dry completely before storing

SPECIAL CARE INSTRUCTIONS BY COATING TYPE

Standard Coating Keepsakes

For keepsakes with our standard protective coating:

• Remove before handwashing
• Remove before showering or bathing
• Remove before any water exposure
• Handle with clean, dry hands
• Avoid exposure to moisture whenever possible

Waterproof Coating Keepsakes

For keepsakes with our premium waterproof coating upgrade:  Your stone is,

• Safe for handwashing in fresh water
• Safe for showering in fresh water
• Safe for brief freshwater immersion (lakes, rivers)

Still requires removal for:

• Saltwater exposure
• Chlorinated water exposure
• Chemical exposure
• Extended water immersion

Natural Variation and Aging

While our waterproof coating provides excellent protection for the stone and is designed to be non-yellowing, please understand that the biological elements used in creating your memorial keepsake are inherently unique and somewhat unpredictable. Each stone contains personal materials that may respond differently to environmental factors over time. Even with the highest quality preservation techniques and protective coatings, natural variations in appearance may develop as the keepsake ages. These subtle changes are part of the organic nature of your one-of-a-kind memorial piece and should be embraced as part of its journey with you.

PROTECTING YOUR KEEPSAKE STONE

The centrepiece of your memorial jewellery is the special keepsake stone containing your precious materials. To maintain its appearance:

• Avoid direct impact or pressure on the stone
• Protect from scratches by avoiding contact with hard surfaces
• Keep away from extreme temperature changes
• Shield from prolonged direct sunlight, which may affect colouration over time
• Never attempt to clean the stone with any solutions other than a soft, dry cloth

WARRANTY CLAIMS

If you experience any issues with your keepsake that you believe fall under our warranty coverage:

1. Contact us immediately at midwifebalance@gmail.com
2. Provide your order number and a detailed description of the issue
3. Include clear photographs showing the problem
4. Follow our shipping instructions for warranty assessment

Please note that the following are not covered under warranty:

• Damage from improper care or accidents
• Normal wear and tear
• Color changes due to environmental or chemical exposure
• Alterations made by anyone other than Midwife Balance

ADDITIONAL RECOMMENDATIONS

• We recommend periodic visual inspections of your keepsake, particularly checking any settings or fasteners
• Consider removing your keepsake during household chores or gardening
• Apply any personal care products before putting on your jewellery, and allow products to fully absorb
• Remember that even with the waterproof coating, your keepsake contains precious biological materials that deserve gentle care
