Midwife Balance is a business specialising in creating personalised breastmilk jewellery  and keepsakes. These Terms and Conditions govern your use of our website and services. By placing an order with us, you agree to be bound by these terms.

DEFINITIONS

  • “We,” “Us,” “Our,” or “Midwife Balance” refers to Midwife Balance and its owners, employees, and representatives.
  • “You,” “Your,” or “Customer” refers to the individual or entity purchasing products or services.
  • “Product(s)” refers to any breastmilk jewellery or keepsakes created by Midwife Balance.
  • “Material(s)” refers to any biological materials, including but not limited to breastmilk, hair, cord tissue, or other personal materials provided by customers for inclusion in products.

ORDERING PROCESS

1. Order Placement

By placing an order with Midwife Balance, you confirm that:

  • You are at least 18 years of age
  • You have the legal right to provide all materials sent to us
  • All information provided is accurate and complete
  • You accept these Terms and Conditions

2. Material Submission

  • All materials must be submitted according to our packaging and preservation guidelines, which will be provided upon order confirmation.
  • Materials must be clearly labelled with your order number, address and full name.
  • We reserve the right to refuse any materials that appear contaminated, improperly preserved, or otherwise unsuitable for production.
  • We are not responsible for materials lost or damaged during shipping to our facility.
  • Please don’t send the last of anything in case items go missing.

3. Production Timeline

  • Standard production time is 12-16 weeks from receipt of all required materials and payment.
  • Custom or complex orders may require additional time.
  • Production timelines are estimates and not guarantees. Seasonal demand may affect completion times.

4. Payment

  • Full payment is required to secure your order.
  • Orders will not be processed until payment is received.
  • Payment methods accepted include credit/debit cards, PayPal, and bank transfers.

PRODUCT INFORMATION

1. Product Variations

  • Each breastmilk stone is handcrafted and unique.
  • Natural variations in color, texture, and appearance are expected and not considered defects.
  • The final appearance may differ from sample images due to the unique nature of biological materials.

2. Material Processing

  • We use specialised preservation techniques to process breastmilk and other biological materials.
  • We cannot guarantee that all biological properties of the materials will be preserved.
  • The appearance of preserved materials may change over time due to natural aging processes.

REFUND AND RETURN POLICY

1. Custom Products

  • As all our products are custom-made with your personal materials, we do not offer refunds once production has begun.
  • Deposits are non-refundable once materials have been processed.

2. Cancellations

    • Orders may be canceled within 48 hours of placement for a full refund.
    • Orders canceled after 48 hours but before material processing may receive a partial refund, less a 20% administrative fee.
    • Orders cannot be cancelled once materials have been processed.
  • There are no refunds or replacements on rings ordered in the wrong size.  I highly recommend you check your size with your local jeweller for the most accurate measurement.  I can provide a printable international ring sizer but it is used at your own risk.

3. Product Issues

  • If you receive a product with manufacturing defects, please notify us within 7 days of receipt.
  • Please provide clear photographs of the defect for our assessment.
  • If we confirm a manufacturing defect, we will offer repair or replacement.
  • Normal wear and tear, damage from improper handling, or changes due to natural aging are not considered defects.

4. Repairs

  • We offer a one year warranty against manufacturing defects.
  • Repairs needed due to customer handling or accidents will incur additional charges.
  • Customer is responsible for shipping costs to return items for repair.

SHIPPING POLICY

1. Shipping of Finished Products

  • All orders are shipped via tracked delivery services with sign on delivery.
  • Shipping is free Australia wide.  A $15 flat rate applies to international order.
  • International shipments may be subject to customs duties and taxes, which are the customer’s responsibility.

2. Delivery Timeframes

  • Domestic shipments typically arrive within 3-7 business days after dispatch.
  • International shipments may take 7-21 business days depending on the destination.
  • Delivery timeframes are estimates and not guarantees.

3. Lost or Damaged Shipments

  • We are not responsible for delays caused by shipping carriers or customs.
  • In case of lost or damaged shipments, we will assist in filing claims with the shipping carrier.
  • Please inspect all products upon receipt and report any shipping damage within 48 hours.

I cannot guarantee any specific outcomes. Please allow for variations in the final presentation of your piece.

All resin is hand poured and as such may have some small noticeable bubbles and tiny indentations on the surface.  These are created by bubbles bursting as the resin dries and also by the milk or placenta within the resin. This is unavoidable, barely noticeable and only adds to the uniqueness of your piece.

In addition to this, it is not unusual to see micro scratches on your silver.  Items are carefully handled but this is the nature of silver and will naturally occur over time when handled or worn.
